Our large family including aunts and uncles, just decided to have a clan reunion in Mati, Davao Oriental the home of some of my second cousins. Just this May 1, 2009 we went to Davao to go with the whole family and travel the day after for about 250 kilometers and do some sightseeing in along the rocky road. The travel was long and tiring as we were on the road for almost 4 hours.

We were on a convoy with the SUV’s. The road was not that good, but we were just very excited to visit and see our roots. When we arrived in Mati. We then stopped in my grandmother’s restaurant wherein we flushed our discomforts then headed to the FGR Farm named after my grandfather “Paking Rabat”. I was stunned with the crowd as people gathered around an area to chat and meet their clan members.

After the day of meeting the large clan we then went to Dahican Beach Resort of the city mayor of Mati. Too bad, we were not allowed to swim and have fun because of the very big waves.

What can you say.eh?

Everyone was tired so we continued our escapade to bed and had fun in Casa Rosa Inn in Mati City.

We were enjoying the time to mingle with cousins while singing aloud and some slept to regain their lost energy in the trip. After dinner we continued the fun as we played poker. We cousins bought playing cards just to play an hour of friendly poker. Luckily, I won with a two pair!!

The day after we were very excited for the beach that some of us woke up early while some woke up late like me. Only few had a chance to swim in the white sand beaches of Mati. When the breakfast was ready we were enjoying the live pay-per-view thanks to Tita Michelle Rabat of the Battle of East and West Pacquiao vs Hatton. Damn! The KO! Brought the whole family pieced together in one area shouting Manny and dancing and dazzled with the fight.

Mati, Davao Oriental is definitely two thumbs up. From the beach to the accommodation. Try to visit the city and see the sights and sounds of the wonderful City.

Roaming around Davao

The day was awesome. The excitement of riding the longest, fastest, and highest zipline in Asia which is in Maa, Davao City the Xcelerator and Outland Adventure.

Wearing the gears felt extreme as me and my brothers took random pics walking along the trail and went to ride the raft and cross the shallow river. Woo! Taking pictures eh?

Cross eh?

Cross eh?

Crossing the river was thrilling as we need to hold the rope tightly to avoid slipping and drown in the 15? feet river.*dunno how deep was it.xD*.

Hiking the steep hill was the second task. It was grueling and tiring with our bottled waters we climbed while breathing hard. Damn, the smell was not that good though. *sniff*But walking along the muddy and slippery path we followed the trail with our guides. It took us almost 15 minutes crossing the river and hiking in the hill.

“Wooh!”, everyone shouted as we were ready for the zipping. We were given binoculars to see the other side of the hill. We even saw two eagles and a cave probably filled with fruit bats. “Up and away”, the superman position was thrilling and fulfilling. The euphoria was off the charts. “Pose.Pose.Pose, we had fun time in mid air as we made some exhibitions.

Sky-high.Wrong timing.

.

All of us wanted to try it again but our pockets are empty so we gotta wait for next time. Still wondering when will next time be.

More about me, keep safe people.Peace!
