I was born a year later when Filipinos united and walked on the streets in protest that was named “People Power” to oust the current leader at that time. He was known as the smartest leader we ever had yet his dictatorship made his countryman suffer. Power became his addiction and those around him made sure he remained in power for their own benefit. Few brave souls who fought were imprisoned and exiled and we will always remember the arch rival of that dictator, the man who wore glasses and spoke spontaneously of what he believes in and how he loved his homeland. That man was Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. who returned to find his immortality at the hands of his assassins. I remembered this line of which he spoke of “the Filipino people are worth dying for”. The next events that follow most of us knew. We knew the masses who walked the streets the tanks and the soldiers, the nuns who prayed as they walked, banners were raised. We would notice at pictures and videos the color yellow was prominent and people raised hand signs of L for Laban. On the front line was the Lady in the yellow dress. She looked very smart but you never expect her to be a great leader. She looked more like a good housewife and mother than a lady who would lead a country. They never realized she can do it all. The Lady in the Yellow dress proved her critics wrong and became a leader which 3 generations would recognize and look up to as the first female President of the country. She withstood the coup plan by various groups of the army. She amazed us with her strength and how righteous she was. Now at her passing she would immortalize herself with what she has left us. The Mother of Democracy, The Lady in the Yellow Dress will forever inspire the Filipino People. India may have Gandhi and Mother Theresa, Britain has Princess Diana, and USA has Lincoln and Martin Luther King, these people made their countries proud and strong. We have our Maria Corazon “Cory” Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino.

So Let’s Vote, and think long and hard about who and what we believe in.
I prefer not to choose those endorsed by people below 5 feet in height
-by Kyle Benedict H. Parco

Just an excerpt from my cousin’s not in Facebook. Seeing the picture of the late president with his L sign depicting “Laban”. The “Mother of Democracy” with the Cory Magic. The magic to unite people for one mission with the heart of democracy. People again showed their love to the former president reminiscing the times when together they held rosaries and soldiers deployed on tanks. Now people reunited in the famous yellow color and threw yellow colored confetti’s escorting Cory Aquino in her wooden coffin. She indeed proved that People Power is Prayer Power.

Everyone will always remember her strong will for peace and unity in her beloved country and my country. People showed that dictatorship and one man show will never prevail and one by one more than 150,000 people from all around the world with perseverance to join other people in mourning and weeping for the late president. They stood up in the middle of the rain and extreme heat.

Everything was really simple like the life of the Lady in the Yellow Dress. The coffin and the people who sung for in her day. Having yellow ribbons in shirts, ID’s, vehicles, trees and different establishments carried out their sympathy and ousting the midget. The shout for democracy and peace were scribbled in their tongues to exhale the wrong doings of the person who is below 5 feet high.

It just crossed my mind that needles of power and dictatorship are mainly cause of greediness in power and wealth. Yet, the lady in the yellow dress taught Filipinos and even foreigners the love for country and and the people. Mark X on the person with the famous black dot on the face and sitting glamorously on her seat which is competed by politicians. I really do not prefer the advocacy of Charter Change but Change and together strive and stand for hope. Simplicity and humility will always remain on top.

She must be inducted as a hero or a saint with her magic to unclog the corruption and carry the justice along with empowerment of humanity. Long live Cory Aquino. Thank you for the memories you kept inside our hearts.

Blockbuster bouts tomorrow as the UFC 100 sets into action. Centennial countdown from the 100 best fights of its history. Been craving to see the championship and premiere bouts of Frank Mir vs Brock Lesnar, George St. Pierre vs Thiago Alves and Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping.

Tuning in our cable channel Balls for a week now showcasing the highlights of UFC from the legendary Royce Gracie, the Magnificent Muay Thai clinch of Anderson “Spider” Silva and the farm boy carry of Matt Hughes. Five days of pure clashing of MMA skills from the center stage of UFC.

Can’t wait to see the 100th UFC event. Been craving for a clash since June of this year. Prediction.Prediction.Predictions from UFC 100’s official website and from my cousins. My predictions for the three blockbuster brawl:

1)Brock Lesnar will win via knockout. I think he learned a lesson from the upset against Frank Mir’s excellent Jiu Jitsu with his leg lock that forced Lesnar to tap-out.

2)George St.Pierre will win via TKO or submission against Thiago “Pitbull” Alves. GSP’s versatility

3)Dan Henderson will win via decision against Michael Bisping. The two coaches in Ultimate Fighter 9 will collide in a clash and I think Henderson will emerge victorious.

Those are just predictions from my cousins and me. I didn’t measure their statistics and these predictions might turn out reversely and up-side down.
